Product omschrijving

Performance Series forks retain the same black anodised 7000 series aluminium upper tubes as Performance Elite, except paired with a GRIP damper. Push-button bleeders are not included but can be purchased separately. Lower Leg Bypass Channels As a fork compresses, the air volume within the lower legs decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork compresses, the more pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing full travel from being achieved. The lower leg channels on the 38 model help to alleviate this issue by dramatically increasing air volume within the lower legs and thereby reducing the amount of additional unintended pressure ramping. Another benefit of these channels is that lower leg bath oil is circulated to the upper reaches of the lower legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel. Lower Leg Arch Stiffness-to-weight is the ultimate metric for bicycle design. Engineers invest countless hours poring over every ounce of material in an effort to optimize this critical ratio. Fox's updated lower leg design pulls out all the stops, shaving every possible gram while making sure not to compromise stiffness or strength requirements of modern enduro and gravity style riding. Modern frame designs and geometry trends require modern suspension design solutions. The arch design of the updated 38 forks is designed to pair perfectly with modern Enduro and Downhill bikes. Head tube profiles have grown larger and larger, and fork offsets shorter and shorter. Fox Suspension's revised arch shape takes this need into account by jutting forward to provide ample headtube clearance at full compression. State-of-the-art computer modelling techniques helped Fox to create an organic lower leg shape that optimises stiffness with the absolute minimal amount of material.  FIT GRIP Damper Inspired from moto, the GRIP damper uses Fox Suspensions FIT sealed cartridge technology combined with a coil-sprung, independent floating piston. GRIP allows excess oil to purge through specially designed ports at the top of the damper to maintain consistent damping and increase durability. Packing the same revolutionary features as the 36 model while redefining what you think a long travel single crown fork is capable of, the Fox Suspension 38 Float Performance Grip Fork sets a new benchmark for confidence, performance, and durability. Floating Axle The updated 38 forks come equipped with an updated quick-release operated patent-pending floating axle system, combining the benefit of a floating axle with the ease of a tool-free quick-release. With this system, spacing is locked in via a floating sleeve, allowing repeated front wheel removal and reinstallation while maintaining perfect fork alignment. Floating sleeve positioning comes preset from the factory so if you are unsure of how to operate the floating axle system or simply don’t want to bother with it, you can just install the front wheel and get on with your ride. Please Note: Maximum tyre size 29“ x 2.6" (when using tyres larger than 2.4”, you should check the tyre clearance with the fork fully compressed. There should be a distance of at least 6 mm to the fork crown.) Additional Features: • GRIP 3-Pos damping cartridge • Massive 38 mm upper tubes • Optimised fork casting for maximum stiffness • Approx. 31% higher bending stiffness, approx. 17% better braking stiffness and approx. 38% more torsional stiffness than a FOX 36 • Tapered steerer tube with varying wall thickness (ovalised) for improved stiffness/weight ratio • Jutting, rounded lower leg arch to provide more space between arch and head tube • Lower Leg Bleeders can be installed: valves for bleeding the lower tubes (pressure equalization) (Please note: Air release buttons are NOT included! They can be retrofitted.) • Lower Leg Channels: air or oil channels to reduce the internal pressure and improve the lubrication of the upper bushings and foam rings • Floating thru axle • Float EVOL air spring (spring rate can be adjusted with volume spacers) • Intended use: Enduro, Freeride • Material: aluminium (fork crown/upper tubes), magnesium (lower tubes) • Coating (upper tubes): anodised (black) • Upper Tube Diameter: 38 mm • Remote: no • Fork length: 583.7 mm • Front hub spacing: 15 x 110 mm (Boost) • Weight: approx. 2290g In the box: • 1x FOX 38 Performance GRIP suspension fork incl. manual • 1x 15x110mm thru axle • 1x (brake) hose guide • 1x Ahead star nut
