The E-Fine 2 features 160mm-travel RockShox 35 Gold forks and an X-Fusion coil rear shock to soak up the hits and knocks from rough terrain while maintaining exceptional control and traction. To keep the perfect balance of rolling speed, agility and grip, the E-Fine rolls upon a a 29" front and a 27.5" rear wheel. This wheelset comprises of Tubeless Ready Octane One Solar rims, NS Boost hubs and Schwalbe Big Betty BikePark tyres and is ideal for all-mountain, enduro and downhill trail riding sessions. Shimano Deore 11-Speed Groupset and Steps Electric Motor Drive NS has fitted it with a Shimano Steps electric motor drive that gives you a pedal-assisted push up the steepest hills and enables you to keep some energy in reserve for the descents. it is also armed with a wide-ranging 11-Speed groupset from Shimano that includes a Deore M5100 rear derailleur, an 11-46-tooth cassette and Deore 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. Over the years NS Bikes tested a lot of E-Bikes but there was never any bike that truly stole their team’s heart. It took them a while to figure out what kind of bike they want to make for NS Bikes. All Terrain Optimised E-Bike Performance They asked themselves, what makes an E-Bike great. If they put the motor on the side for a moment, it all comes down to the bike’s geometry and suspension, and these are the main points that they focused on. They looked for a geometry that works best on a motor assisted bike – and that is one that is not necessarily the same as on their Analog bikes. The geometry must be complemented by suspension that works perfectly on a bike that is inherently heavier than a normal mountain bike (MTB), and the tyres, brakes and cockpit all need to have more of a “moto” character. Back to the motor: there are no “bad” motor drive units on the market these days. What NS Bikes think is critical for their customers is reliability and easily accessible service if something goes wrong. That’s why they chose to work with Shimano. They have similar values as NS Bikes combined with excellent customer service all over the world. One of the key things NS noticed is that the NS crew doesn’t dig wimpy rides. So, NS made sure that the E-Fine is a big, burly machine. It’s fitted with the excellent SRAM 35 Gold RL fork, a coil shock and aggressive tyres. To make sure everyone could feel comfortable on the E-Fine they included an option to adjust the heigh of the bottom bracket to suit personal riding preferences. Even the most die-hard dirt jumpers, bike park riders and downhill racers in the NS Bikes company are lining up to borrow a prototype for a weekend of shredding – something that they haven’t seen previously with other E-Bikes that have been laying around in their office.
